When Trey Scott was growing up, his older brother, Cory, was always influential. Cory was always doing fun things and messing around with trucks. When it came time for truck shows, Cory often brought his little brother. In fact, Cory even took Trey to his first truck show, which got him into the whole scene.
The automotive bug was definitely in the Scott family blood because their father also drag-raced full-blown musclecars. Out at the races, Trey was always watching his father and busy getting his hands dirty whenever he could. This bug was then passed down as the Scott brothers developed an appreciation of cars and trucks. In time, Cory got into the truck thing, which led him to opening his own paint and body shop called Kustom Werx in Conroe, Texas.

Following his brother, Trey then got into trucks and began searching for one of his own. He and his father found this used '99 GMC Sierra with an asking price of 14 grand. Trey was fired up about the find and had to have the truck. His father gave it to him for his high school graduation in 2002. Soon after, he went off to college at Texas A&M.
While in college, Trey cleaned up the GMC with a 3/4 drop over a set of 20-inch Foose wheels. He was very satisfied driving his truck, until a fierce hailstorm damaged his pride and joy. Since his brother ran a paint and body shop, the truck was left at Kustom Werx to be repaired.
While getting the body straight, Cory had the idea of doing a little more than getting the truck back to the same old white color. He had always wanted to paint a truck in a blue and copper two-tone, and his brother's truck was going to be the guinea pig for his plans. Since the previous owner put the GMC HD fender flares on, Trey wanted to match the styling with a hood of the same breed. So, a new Chevy HD hood was purchased and cut to fit around the GMC headlights.

Afterward, the truck was put back together and readied for the road. Trey was happy but not satisfied yet with his ride. He had a nicely painted truck, yet it still didn't sit low enough for show. So, he took it back to his brother's shop again and had him add an air-ride suspension to get the frame on the pavement. At the same time, the interior plastics were ripped out and smoothed down so they could be painted along with the rest of the truck.
Once the truck was 'bagged and finished, Trey got the results he was looking for in the truck. He now has the best of both worlds, a truck of his own to show off and a daily driver. So, don't be surprised if you see a chip in the paint because this truck is enjoyed on a daily basis.
