Yeah, you read that right, this '94 GMC was built in 6 weeks, and no, it wasn't thrown together. The truck did have a good head start, but when we spotted this clean, green Stepside outside of the Kinetic Power booth at Slammin' & Jammin', it was still hard to imagine how everything had come together so well in such a short amount of time. Granted, it had just finished being built, but the engine compartment was spotless, and this truck drives under its own power. Katrinia Watson owns the truck, and with help from her husband Bill, many friends, and a handful of sponsors, the GMC was transformed into her first show truck.

Big John Adkins at Ballistic Metalworks in Southaven, Mississippi, is responsible for the frame-scraping stance, as he added the Belltech spindles and Firestone 2600c airbags to the front suspension. The rear also uses Firestone 'bags, but the factory leaf springs were ditched in favor of a Blitzluft four-link, which suspends the factory 12-bolt now filled with Richmond 3.73 gears.
Spinning those gears is the original 350ci V-8 that Bill Watson rebuilt with the addition of a Comp Cam and Jet Hot-coated Hedman Hedders. The rest of the engine bay contains two Kinetik HC 1800 batteries, chrome accents, such as the master cylinder cover, the Powermaster alternator, and polished-aluminum valve covers. The highlight of the engine bay is the air cleaner, which was custom-built by Big John and, appropriately, uses two Green conical filters. The top is an off-the-shelf piece, but the bottom was formed after hours of measuring, hammering, and welding. When it was finally the right shape, it was smoothed, primered, and painted the same Honda Green as the control arms, new inner fenders, and fan shroud.

The aforementioned head start was the truck's bodywork. Katrinia bought the truck with a great coat of Honda Del Sol Green, which was sprayed on by Jeremy Swain at his shop in Searcy, Arkansas, after he shaved the door handles, molded in a roll pan, and relocated the tailgate handle. Once her beloved color was already on the truck and the suspension was freshly-dropped, Katrinia decided to focus on the interior.

Shane Peacock Originals and Quality Auto in Covington, Tennessee, tackled the upholstery, as Camaro SS buckets were cut down, reskinned with light gray leather and green inserts, and then bolted in front of a Billet Specialties Classic steering wheel. Nearly every plastic piece, including the dash, was removed and sanded smooth before being sprayed the matching Honda Green. For audio entertainment, the addition of Kicker amps, a ZX650.4 for the 6.5-inch Kicker separates, and a ZX1500.1 for the Kicker CVT-10 subs, were mounted behind a smoothed and painted panel behind the seats. The four shallow-mount Kicker subs rest in the custom-fiberglass center console that was built by Shane Peacock and Bill Watson. Finally, the audio and video is controlled by a Valor ITS702W 7-inch DVD/CD player that was mounted in the factory location.
