How many times have you been in the shop, while working on your truck, when your girlfriend or wife gets all upset with you? For some of you ladies, it might be the reverse. Minitruckin' for many has always been rumored to be a relationship killer. Jason Fox knows it for a fact. As a matter of fact, he split up with his wife because of this truck
When we asked Jason what he wished he would have done different during the build of his truck, he wished he had gotten his divorce a lot sooner, so he could have finished the truck earlier. That has to be one of the funniest responses we've ever heard. Thankfully for us, Jason did finish his Stepside truck and did a great job doing it.
Jason started his build by pissing off his wife, then he moved on to doing all the suspension work, which was done at Boneyard Customs. Using 2,500-pound Firestone airbags in the front, along with some Belltech spindles, they were able to bring that front end down to a more suitable level. In the rear, a three-link and Panhard bar setup with 2,600-pound 'bags were used. GC Extreme valves and some Viair compressors finished off the package for the suspension.
When the time came to paint, all the normal accessories were shaved, then Jason Fox and his dad, Jeff Fox, painted the truck using RM Diamond Sunset Orange to really make this truck stand out from the crowd. With an awesome interior, Jason knew he had to follow it with a custom interior to match, so he took his truck down to David Corn at Pro Stitch in Knoxville, Tennessee, to do the job right. Davidused alligator skin and leather to catch your eye.
This is the second Stepside truck in this month's mag, and with such gorgeous lines and great flow, we can see why Jason Fox picked his truck over his marriage.
