Featured Rides Of Truckin' Readers

To get your truck featured in Readers' Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to Send in a front 3/4 or profile shot, and make sure it's big enough. We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means sending links to photos posted online won't necessarily work. Images should be about three megabytes. Also, include plenty of information about yourself, your truck, and your full name. If you want to get your ride noticed by posting it on Truckin' Readers' Rides Online, go to Upload as many as 20 photos of your vehicle, along with a detailed description.
The Devil's Cold
Homer Hernandez, from Houston, put in some serious hustle into his '02 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. He bolted on a Navi front clip, a set of 22-inch U2-35 chrome wheels, and had a full frame-laying, air-ride system constructed for his cruising pleasure. Under the hood, an Airaid intake and throttle-body spacer, new pulleys, and a Superchips programmer helped improve the 5.4L's power, and the interior was completely decked out in black ostrich skin and a ton of audio and billet accessories. Homer had his truck completed, and ready to debut at the '09 Texas Showdown show but his truck was totaled a month before its unveiling. Homer put in 5 long years of work into his build, but he is keeping a positive attitude and trying his best to get back on the road in something equally as cool. Sorry to hear about your hard luck, Homer, but keep the faith!

A Soldier's Silverado
Branson Gilley, a Pfc. in the U.S. Army was just deployed to Iraq on October 22, 2009, and he is counting down each day until he can start working on his '03 Chevy Silverado again. Branson has dropped his truck with a 3-4 McGaughy's drop kit and has slapped on a set of 22-inch Ultra Wheels for a nice, complete appearance package. A SS bumper, shaved tailgate handle, a roll pan, Street Scene mirrors, Escalade handles, and a Gaylord's tonneau cover round out the rest of the attractive exterior mods. Thank you for your service to our country, Branson. Get home safe and keep the truck looking great!

Daring Dakota
Jay Atkison is an active U.S. Army soldier stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas, and when he has free time, he usually spends it working on his '07 Dodge Dakota SLT. Since buying it brand new, Jay has had a complete air-ride system installed, which includes two Viair air compressors, a 5-gallon stainless tank, and boasts FBSS, pancake, and scissor lift/dump capabilities. A set of 20-inch Velocity wheels and Goodyear tires make for a great rolling foursome, and the full stereo system features a JVC head unit, a Bazooka 10-inch bass tube, and two Kicker amps wired to two sets of JL Audio components. Great work so far, and thank you for your service!

Durango Double Take
Austin Carey has previously owned a Dodge Durango but it was totaled in an accident before he was able to take any decent photos of it. Determined to make it into his favorite truck publication, Austin purchased his second Durango, this '00 SLT 4WD model, and added a few modifications before he asked his sister, Stephanie Bockhorn, to put her photographic skills to good use. Searching for a model was an easy task since Austin's girlfriend, Lauren Ortiz, was more than happy to jump in front of the camera. Austin admits to spending too much money on his main squeeze and thinks he should direct more money into his truck. We are keeping our mouths shut on this one, Austin, but from the looks of things, it doesn't look like you're making out too bad either way you decide to go.

East Coast H3
James Rea, from Pensacola, Florida, is serious about cruising around in a cool ride, which is why he got himself a '06 HUMMER H3 Adventure. With the Hummer in his driveway, James added on a set of 18x9-inch KMC XD Rockstar wheels with 33x12.50R18 Toyo M/T Open Country tires. To bump up the performance a bit, a K&N cold air intake and a Volant cat-back SS exhaust were hooked up, and a tune helped corral the extra ponies into a well-organized pack. James also bolted on a Steelcraft brush guard, a Mike Parker PEC-800 winch, a Purple Cranium rear diff guard, and Boulder Accessories rear axle skid plates for additional style and utility.

The Cyclone Crew
Ty Stayer has owned this F-150 since August '06 and has done all of the work himself. There are still big plans in the works to make her as fast as she looks by conducting a 5.4L supercharged engine swap. For now, the truck is cool enough to cruise in style and once he adds the power it will be a complete, killer package. The 22x10-inch American Racing RT-S wheels and 275/45R22 Cooper Zeon Xsta tires look great underneath the 2/4 drop. The interior features black leather buckets, color matched dash and door pieces, and a banging sound system complete with a Kenwood head unit, Infinity amps, and Kicker subs.

Papa's Truck
Well, that's what Greg Roth's grandkids call his '03 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. Greg bought the truck brand new in '02 and since then, he has dropped its stance with a 2/4 Belltech kit, and wrapped a set of American Racing wheels with Toyo Proxes S/T rubber. For better performance, an Airaid intake has found its way under the hood, and a Flowmaster exhaust system allows for better air movement. With most kids having to ride around in some boring minivan, it's nice to see that Greg was cool enough to build a stylish truck for the grandkids to roll around town in.

The First Frost
Derrick Plante, a proud citizen of Canada, has chosen a '95 Chevy 1500 4WD to get him through the snow that covers his hometown streets every year. Since Derrick works at an auto body shop, he has been able to give his truck a refreshing facelift and a shiny new coat of paint. So far, Derrick has accumulated 400,000 kilometers on the odometer, which more or less translates to 248,000 miles, and in that time both the original engine and tranny had to be swapped out. Not only did Derrick buy his Bow Tie to have some fun with, but he has also been able to put the truck to the test over the years since he has been behind the wheel.

A Racer's Ride
Evan Pflock, from Redondo Beach, California, is a motocross racer and a huge fan of trucks. His '07 Chevy Silverado has been dropped with a McGaughy's 4/6 kit and the frame has been C-notched for ample axle travel. A set of Crave Alloys 22-inch No. 7 wheels and 285/40R22 Nitto 420S tires have been mated and look great underneath the truck's new suspension. Future plans include a full interior restyling complete with an in-dash DVD player, leather seats, and a booming sound system. A supercharger and 26-inch wheels are also in the works.
