In preparation for a Readers' Rides extravaganza, we're asking all you, especially those of you who are serving in our military, who have not sent in pictures of your truck, to please send an email to We'll have more rides than ever to check out in an upcoming issue and it's up to you to make sure your pride and joy is among the chosen few. Remember to take high-resolution photos and try to find a good background.
Die Hard For Diesel
The '08 Ford F-350 that you see here belongs to Scott Gaither, from Placerville, California. A Fabtech leveling kit brings the front end just high enough to fit 20-inch MKW M26 rollers and 35-inch Toyo Mud Terrain rubber. The stock 6.4L engine received a little help from an S&B intake, and the factory sound system pumps out better signals with JL Audio speakers that are powered by a Soundstream amp. Lower frequencies are reached with a set of 10-inch MTX subs and an Orion competition amp. This is just Scott's daily driven diesel rig, maybe he'll share some of his photos of his 'big' trucks later down the line.

Reconditioned Ride
Juan Garza, from Dallas, Texas, bought his '00 Chevy Silverado with a salvaged title in 2004, but from the looks of things, Juan made the very best of the situation. A Belltech 3-4 drop kit and an Air Lift Ride Control setup have been coupled for great ride handling and the luxury of an adjustable suspension. Twenty-two-inch Moto Metal wheels and 265/35R22 Lexani tires make for an impressive rolling combo underneath the Chevy's lowered stance. Under the hood, Juan installed a K&N FIPK, a Hypertech programmer, an Optima RedTop battery, and topped all of it off with a Flowmaster exhaust. A Tahoe grille shell was fused to the Silverado's front end, and a set of Cadillac door handles took the place of the old, untreated pieces. Great work, Juan!

Don't Fear The Reaper
It's tough to make out the mural on the tailgate in this photo, but there is a creepy looking Grim Reaper that is hovering over the airbrushed gravesites of Toyota, Dodge, and Ford. The '01 Chevy Silverado's owner, Larry Boatman, feels that his MagnaCharger-equipped 5.3L will smoke almost any truck around his area. Not only is this Bow Tie supercharged, but it has been loaded up with a new Comp Cams' camshaft, valve springs, and push rods, but to really spice things up, a water/methanol injection system was also thrown into the mix. After proper tuning, the truck was delivering an impressive 450 hp to the rear wheels. A 4L60E tranny had to be rebuilt at this point, but it was beefed up with high performance bands, clutches, and a shift kit that had this truck leaving black rubber streaks all over the roads.

Beaming Bow Tie
Jeremy Cole wrote in and informed us that he has been a subscriber to Truckin' for six years now, and that he finally feels he has a ride worthy of the magazine. We are always happy to oblige anyone who takes the time to write in, but it makes things a whole lot easier to get into the mag with a truck as clean as Jeremy's '08 Chevy Tahoe. So far, it has received a 3/5 McGaughy's drop, and the custom 24-inch powercoated Boss 330 wheels and Nexen 295/35R24 tires create a nice contrast to the high-def white paint. Jeremy hooked up an Airaid throttle-body spacer, a K&N cold air intake, A Magnaflow exhaust, and a Hypertech performance chip to add some much welcomed performance gains. Thanks for being a dedicated reader, Jeremy!

Truckin' Therapy
We received an email from Susan Banks who informed us that her husband, Tom, had been involved in a traffic accident while vacationing in New Hampshire, which left him with permanent brain injuries. During the recovery process, Tom wasn't able to drive his old '93 Ford F-150, but that actually inspired him to take the necessary steps to renew his driver's license and purchase a new truck that he could customize and use daily. This '06 Ford F-150 has been lowered, rolls on 22s, and is decked out with a killer audio system. The front Lambo doors and rear suicide doors operate on a remote, and to add a nice finishing touch, Tom had the truck dipped in four coats of clear for a deep, glistening shine. On top of all that, we heard from Susan that Tom would be celebrating his 67th birthday this year on June 12th! The entire Truckin' staff would like to offer Tom the happiest of birthday wishes and a sincere congratulations on his cool, new ride.

Cool Friggin' Ford
Dan Finlayson's '06 Ford F-150 XLT gets plenty of attention in his hometown of Ontario, Canada. Dan decided not to go too wild with the modifications, but the look of the 20-inch wheels, and the sound from the Magnaflow exhaust do just the trick to getting his truck noticed on the streets and highways just north of us. Keep up the great work, Dan, and don't be afraid to get a little crazy!
