SS For The Masses

If there was a spirit of the event award, San Diego native Jose Plascencia, would have taken home top honors. The 22-year-old performance truck fanatic loves going fast, and even though his ’06 Silverado SS was mostly stock, it didn’t deter him for one second from having an absolute blast. Modified with a ram air intake with K&N filter and a Flowmaster exhaust, his 6.0L kept an ear-to-ear smile on his face during the performance truck shootout. Admittedly, he had never been on a racetrack before, but his factory-fresh SS still managed to hustle around our track with smoky burnouts on tap whenever he desired. Jose didn’t crack the top three in any competitions, but he told us afterward that he had a ton of fun and he’ll never forget going out and beating on his truck. Having fun, going fast, and meeting great new people—how could anyone forget that!
