To get your truck featured in Readers’ Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to Send in a front 3⁄4 or profile shot of your truck, and make sure it’s big enough. For a digital file, try to make it at least 1MB. Don’t use your cell phone! We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means that sending links to photos posted online won’t work. Also, please make sure that the whole truck is in the frame, don’t cutoff the front or back of the truck. Remember, this is your pride and joy. Do your best to make your truck look it’s best. Also, make sure to include plenty of information about you and your truck. The more information, the better the article. If you want to get your ride noticed by posting it on our website, go to Upload up to 20 photos of your vehicle, along with detailed descriptions.
Built for Work and Play
From Danbury, Connecticut, Bruno Ferreira rides in style behind the wheel of his 2006 Chevy Silverado Z71. First off, the rolling stock has been upgraded to 18-inch MB Motoring Gunner 6 wheels wrapped in 285/60R18 Nitto Terra Grappler rubber. The grille and Bow Tie have been converted to billet. Running the length of the cab is a set of black tube steps and replacing the factory taillights are LED lights. In the bed is a diamond plate toolbox and an Extang toolbox tonneau cover. Inside the cab, a bumping system consisting of a 7-inch Kenwood fold-out DVD/NAV head unit and a 7-inch touchscreen LCD with a laptop hookup provides endless entertainment. In the headrests are 5-inch monitors and under the rear seat is a 10-inch Alpine sub powered by an Alpine amp. For better performance, Bruno has installed a Volant cool air intake, MagnaFlow exhaust, and a Black Bear Performance custom tune. In the future, Bruno wants to install a 4-inch leveling kit, 33-inch rubber, Hushmat sound-deadening in the interior, and EBC rotors and HD pads.

Wannabe SS
Jamie Wenzler’s 1999 Silverado is very cool. The 4.8L engine has been helped out with an aFe cold air intake, an Airaid throttle-body spacer, Gibson headers and exhaust, a Superchips programmer, and Flex-a-lite electric fans. The exterior features custom headlights, a Street Scene hood and grille, chrome handles, LED third brake light, roll pan, and SS badging. For rolling stock, Jamie went with a set of VCT Scarface 22-inch wheels wrapped in 285/40R22 Nitto 420S rubber. A set of McGaughy’s 2-inch drop shackles was used to level out the stance. Inside, painted dash pieces and a custom fiberglass center console add style points. Jamie used to use this as his daily, but now has an ’08 Silverado so he can spend more time customizing his ’99. In the future, he wants to wrap his seats in Katzkin leather, paint the truck black and silver, and lower it two more inches front and rear.

Downright Sick
Dodge dualies look pretty good straight from the factory, but that didn’t stop Kyle Brozanski, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, from making his look even better. First, the truck features an SRT10 front bumper, a roll pan out back, shaved tailgate, and is lowered six inches. The truck is covered in RM paint and was cleared three times for a clean look. The engine has an S&B intake, custom exhaust, performance chip, and a custom nitrous setup that is hidden under the center seat. For wheels, Kyle went with a set of chrome 22-inch American Force hoops. Inside, the dash is completely custom and features Auto Meter gauges, a full Memphis audio stereo system, two TV screens, and a DVD player. After six months, Kyle finally has a truck that he can proudly show off.
