Photo 2/3   |   After garnering a Third Place finish in the autocross, Jason Stephenson let loose on his SS Silverado and squeezed the nitrous hard to grab racing premier spot. In full street trim and being the longest wheelbase in the THROWDOWN, Jason's truck blasted to the highest trap speed.

4th Place
Blazing the quarter-mile with the fastest time and overall trap speed, Jason Stephenson proved that a bigger truck could compete with the rest of them. With AWD, an LS3, and plenty of go-fast spray, his Chevy was scorching the track and leaving everyone feeling blue. Unfortunately for the Silverado SS, Jason squeezed on the nitrous too hard and experienced a backfire during the drag race portion of our contest. The explosion was big enough to melt down a spark plug and actually meld some of the plug’s porcelain to a piston causing a knock. Jason’s weekend was finished but still managed enough points to hang onto Fourth Place even with two DNFs. Rolling 22-inch wheels, Jason could have easily shaved off some tenths with a smaller and stickier tire, but thanks to AWD, the SS was still a track terror. He tells us he will return with a faster combination next THROWDOWN, and we look forward to seeing the SS lay down even quicker ETs.
