THROWDOWN Holley LS Fest - 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500

Tough Luck

Photo 2/3   |   Jason Logan didn't have any road race or autocross experience before THROWDOWN, but he went out and was relentless on a truck that had never done anything but sit at shows. With an airbag suspension and big billet wheels, he managed to find a huge smile banging from the Chevy truck around the course.

Jason Logan won the show and shine and posted his only points on the board by virtue of having the best-looking truck according to a group of his peers. In our humble opinion, we agree with them. This thing just looks too nice to thrash around a racecourse…almost. Busting two U-joints, and bending a four-link bar three times at the start of several events, showed us that this truck isn't just another pretty face in the show field—it's battle tested. Airbagged truck owners are often fearful of pushing their trucks to the limits, but if you've never tried going around an autocross course before, listen to what Jason said after his first lap, “This is so much fun man.” If there was a “spirit of the event award,” Jason would have won hands down. Never letting the truck breakage get him down, Jason was eager to help out others when they needed it, always had a smile on his face, and told us he loved the THROWDOWN format of going fast. Meeting great guys like Jason is one of the best parts of having these events, and we hope he'll be back next year, with better U-joints and stronger link bars, of course.
