Something Special: 2011 Dodge Ram 2500

Tim Nicolau’s ’11 Dodge has the Utmost Attention to Detail

Tim Nicolau has a shop in Ceres, California, called Superior Customz, and we have to say he practices what he preaches. This ’11 Dodge is about as nice as they get. A whole lot of time and effort went into making the truck look good, but Tim never lost sight of ensuring everything on the pickup was there for a reason.

The blue tribal flames set the tone for the truck and catch everyone’s eye. That’s a good thing, because the Dodge made its debut at the annual SEMA show and it certainly had the automotive elite stopping to take a closer look.

The closer you look at this Ram 2500, the more detail you will find. Things like chrome U-joints, powdercoated diff covers, and chrome bolt caps point to the flawless detail approach Tim applied to his ride.

The Cummins engine was outfitted with an AFE intake and an MBRP exhaust to free up a few more ponies under the hood. Increasing horsepower and torque were not the key elements to this truck build, however—the appearance was the top priority.

But Tim wanted the truck to be tasteful and practical, so he didn’t do anything that took the vehicle outside the realm of usefulness. The moderate 5-to-6-inch lift using a Kelderman air-ride kit is just one example. Without going overboard, Tim was able to make this truck stand out as something special.
