Passion is a key ingredient in everything the Choppin' Block crew builds from their Fresno, California shop. Taking a look at this '71 C10, it's obvious they're not messing with their successful recipe for high-end, jaw-dropping customs. The stats are silly, so if you're into the hard numbers, go ahead and skip to the “Inside the Build” section. If you're like us, and you want to know a little more about the project, check out the photos and the details.

Starting with a more wallet-friendly '71 C10, the Choppin' Block team is planning on swapping the front clip to a more desirable '67 C10. Helping achieve the slammed stance, full-length mandrel-bent framerails will support a Choppin' Block suspension using Shockwave airbags. Keeping performance at the forefront of the build, a Winter's quick-change rearend will spin the tires and splined sway bars will be bolted on front and rear. The truck will need to handle like it's on rails with more than 700 hp flowing from the built LS3 engine. With a stainless exhaust and dress-up items under the hood, this Chevy will look as good as it runs. Wilwood big-brakes will bring the '71 to a screeching halt.
Body mods will include molding the front bumper and clip to the fenders, welding in a roll pan, and since it will be a driver, the guys plan on keeping the door handles. You can't go wrong with black paint, and with the addition of a simple green and silver graphic, the C10 should look custom and elegant. Offsetting the sea of black, polished Raceline Explosion wheels will be bolted to all four corners, with the rears benefitting from deep lips. Inside, black leather will abound, as will just the right amount of billet.
Chevy C10s, especially '67-'72s, are hard to make the look unique, but with the attention to detail the Choppin' Block guys are placing on this bad boy, we think it will be a smash hit. Stay tuned.
