"I had to use the rest of my beers to put the fire out."
Pop quiz, hot shot! You're working in the garage, and your truck suddenly bursts into flames. Quick, what do you do?! If you're the cautious type, there's probably a fire extinguisher handy, and if this is the case, well—good for you! The rest of us losers would have to improvise by desperately finding something—anything within reach to put the blaze out. We're sadly relieved to hear that ‘ol Jeremy here would be keeping us company in the "caught with your pants down" clubhouse, because he found himself in such a situation, and did what he could with what he had to avoid total devastation.
"I was cutting a bracket under the cab with a torch, and the carpet caught on fire inside the cab," says Jeremy, "I had been doing a bit of drinking, of course but I immediately stopped drinking though because I had to use the rest of my beers to put the fire out." But come on, what are a few brews compared to five and a half years of time and money invested into the truck? In that 5-year time frame, Jeremy has seen his Toyota evolve into a real looker compared to its construction zone dweller days. Being a minitruck addict since he was 15, there was no way in hell he was going to let a small fire, of all things, set his progress back.
Thinking back to the hurdles he has overcome, Jeremy gave us a short play by play of the last few years, "I thought 18s were big back when I bought my wheels. After I picked them up, I 'bagged the truck, four-linked it to the frame, and then came the bodydrop. Being able to finally roll down the road and actually drive it is like a dream. There's still nothing about the build I would've done differently. I have no regrets." There ya go—logic and determination that's fireproof.
