2010 GMC Yukon XL - Murdered-Out Mommy Mobile
Something Custom for the Missus
Lets just get to the truthour better halves for the most part put up with our obsession for all things custom. Whether it be bagged show trucks, lifted off-road monsters, or muscle trucks that could blow their clothes off, our wives and girlfriends understand that a relationship with us is a package deal. You get us and you get our truck. For many ladies, the prized possession parked out in the driveway is a nuisance that they must grin and bear, but for those select few, a truck is a great way to show off their unique personality alongside their man. A man, his truck, and his girlits a beautiful thing.
Such is the case for Chanel Veit of Phoenix. Married to certified custom truck nut Justin Veit of Insane Kustoms, she's seen her fair share of tricked-out rides come and go. With the addition of their baby girl Juliet, the family needed something with enough room for all of their gear. A 2010 GMC Yukon XL fit the bill, but Chanel couldn't let Justin be the only one cruising around in style, so a plan was created to transform the big SUV into a murdered-out mommy mobile.
Starting with a McGaughy's 2/3 drop, the Yukon was lowered down over black 26-inch Mazzi Krank wheels wrapped in Kuhmo 305/30R26 tires. Baer AlumaSport rotors help bring the added mass to a halt, while also adding some much needed style points. Total Auto Pros, also in Phoenix, handled the simple install. With such a large SUV, body roll was atrocious. Big front and rear sway bars from Hellwig remedied that problem and helped Chanel get to those important baby beauty pageants on time. An Airaid intake and B&B after-cat exhaust system added 36 hp to the 5.3L in less than two hours.
Helping make the Yukon stand out from the crowd, Metal Asylum Kustom Finishes, in Glendale, Arizona, added a bright red accent stripe with a silver stripe running below it. Outlined in orange, the three colors and simple graphic do the job of adding a custom touch without making it look too wild. Up front, a Carriage Works mesh grille and smoked headlights finish off the murdered-out look. Inside, lipstick red leather seats from Roadwire cover all three rows, while several plastic panels received matching red paint. Bell Auto Upholstery handled the Roadwire seat covers, and while they were at it, wrapped the pillars and headliner in black suede.
