Chevrolet has just unveiled its sleek Silverado High Country model which will join the LTZ and Z71 models in the Silverado lineup this fall. We have to admit, we are very impressed with Chevrolet’s take on what a luxury truck should look like. One thing’s for sure; Chevrolet is no longer playing second fiddle to the GMC Denali¬¬, and is finally going after Ford’s King Ranch!

The first thing you’ll notice about the Silverado High Country is that although it looks like it would fit in at the country club, it still knows how to party hard with a standard 5.3L EcoTec3 V-8 that pumps out a tire shredding 355 horsepower while delivering an honest 23 mpg on the highway. A 6.2L EcoTec3 V-8 will also be available and both engines feature direct fuel injection as well as Active Fuel Management and continuously-variable valve timing. Both engines seamlessly switch to four-cylinder mode to save fuel during light-load driving but jump on the throttle and all the fun of driving a warmed over V-8 is sure to put a healthy grin on your face.

Options in addition to the 6.2L EcoTec3 V-8 include a chrome rear bumper with CornerStep, an integrated trailer brake controller, sunroof, 8-inch touch screen navigation system and a rear-seat entertainment system as well as a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The High Country package also includes a unique chrome grille with horizontal chrome bars as well as halogen projector headlamps and body-colored front and rear bumpers. Also standard on the High Country Silverado are a set of sleek 20-inch chrome wheels wrapped in P275/55R20 all-season tires for improved on-road handling.

This is one truck you’ll probably only want to modify on the outside since the interior looks like it was crafted from the finest materials on the planet. The High Country features a western-inspired Saddle Brown leather interior with double-stitched heated and cooled - perforated leather seats as well as a Bose premium audio system and front and rear park assist.

Although the Silverado High Country is arguably the most luxurious pickup-truck Chevrolet has built to date, it’s still a truck that you can depend on to get the tough jobs done at the end of the day.
We now finally know what the damage will be to your wallet if you want to purchase one of these luxurious High Country Edition Silverados. It will go on sale this fall with a stating price of $45,100 (including destination charge) for 2WD models equipped with the standard 5.3-liter engine. The crew cab body is exclusive to the High Country, and it is available with a 5’8” or 6’6” cargo box but it will definitely raise the cost if you want one in 4WD.
