It's a classic tale of "more is never enough." When you eat, sleep, and breathe custom trucks, more is just a starting point for what eventually becomes out of control. From the onset of this Raptor build, the words average, regular, and stock were not associated with the 2012 Super Crew. No stranger to taking a new truck and making it incredibly unique, Austin O'Krinsky, of Extreme Offroad & Performance in Katy, Texas, has owned several trucks featured in Truckin. Then again, all of those trucks were ¾-ton diesels. For this F-150 to meet his expectations, it needed rocket ship-like acceleration, serious off-road capability, and looks that would stand out. Let the thrill ride begin.
Raptor owners are always looking for ways to improve the off-road prowess of Ford's most capable dirt truck, and Austin found the solution to his suspension needs at Addictive Desert Designs (ADD). They sent out new Uniball upper A-arms and adjustable King coilover shocks with reservoirs. Big 15-inch Baer rotors with six-piston calipers add stopping power to the rig, while Fuel Maverick wheels and 35-inch Toyo M/T tires provide improved grip. Out back, 4½-inch King bypass shocks along with ADD frame gussets and bumpstop kit ensure the Raptor soaks up all the whoops and jumps in Austin's future. To maximize the F-150's off-road–ready looks, an ADD Stealth Fighter front bumper was bolted in place, while a matching ADD bumper was installed in the rear. Recon LED lights illuminate the trail for high-speed night activities, which is important because Austin's Raptor can cover a great distance in a short amount of time.

Covering a long distance quickly is as easy as mashing the "go" pedal. Your eyes will need to be fixed down range when you commit to flooring the accelerator with more than 500 rwhp on tap. The 6.2L V-8 ingests nearly 9 psi of boost by way of a 2.9L Whipple supercharger. American Racing Headers long-tube headers and a Corsa exhaust absolutely wail at full throttle and leave little doubt that this Raptor is a four-wheel-drive thrill ride.
Inside the Super Crew's four doors, the heated and cooled leather seats were left unmolested, but the headliner was wrapped in black suede. Extreme Offroad upgraded the audio system with a Rockford Fosgate 360 sound processor to retain the Sony/SYNC head unit, upgraded the door speakers with Rockford Fosgate replacements, and built a sub box under the rear seat housing two 13.5-inch JL Audio shallow-mount subs. JL Audio HD amps power the system. Adding a unique touch to the interior, Extreme hydro-dipped all of the dash and center console's hard plastic surfaces in a menacing grey and black skull pattern.

After a brief off-roading session in Primm, Nevada, you couldn't beat the smile off of Austin's face as he told us, "The new suspension really performs well and I like that you can adjust the compression and rebound of the King shocks." A blast on and off the pavement, Extreme Offroad continues to build entertaining trucks of all shapes and sizes.
