When the guys heading up Hot Rod Ranch in Lompoc, California, have to tow their hot rods and other projects and parts, the family sedan just isn’t cut out for such a task. Transporting multiple cars on a trailer requires power, torque, and towing capacity. With their daily drivability, utility, and flat-out fun factor, the unanimous tow rig of choice for this shop is a diesel truck, for which no favoritism is shown between makes. Chevy, Ford, Dodge, GMC – the answer for these guys is yes, please; just make sure it’s a 4X4. Here’s another kicker: three of the four guys are brothers. Gil Muro pilots a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500; Jamie Muro drives a 1999 Ford F-350; and Randy Muro navigates a 2006 Dodge Ram. The fourth, Corey, drives a 2007.5 GMC Sierra. These car guys certainly can’t be accused of not branching out into the other facets of the custom world.

So which truck is the best? It probably depends on which of the Hot Rod Ranch guys you ask.
