2005 Mitsubishi Triton - King Triton

Ruler Of The Thai Way

2005 Mitsubishi Triton
Mr. Ekkanutt (YUT) • Bangkok, Thailand
The Mitsubishi Triton is an odd looking pickup specimen. The back of the cab looks egghead-ish, the bed lines swoop down something weird toward the cab, and the front end looks like it's off some sort of minivan. But all squabbles aside, this particular Triton looks hotter than two rats making whoopee in a wool sock—but not just because it's sitting on the floor. (And contrary to belief, not everything that's low looks good)
Now, we'd be lucky to see a stock Triton in person let alone one as customized as this. Straight off the lot, one of these models would cost ya 550,000 THB (Thai Baht) in Thailand. Holy crap, that's a lot of digits for a mid-sized pick-em-up truck! Don't let that figure fool you; it converts to roughly $18,257.25 American dollars. Local custom shops, Cardance and Haisocar are responsible for the transformation, and boy did they ever create something people in the area aren't used to seeing roam their streets.

The first thing done to the Triton was to ‘bag the damn thing, then came some hefty chassis modifications due to having to raise the 2.5L turbo-diesel engine and relocating the fuel reservoir and lines. Cardance is responsible for the suspension work, and Haisocar body, paint, and interior work. The vibrant red isn't a factory color option, it's what the owner calls, “Red Crystal”, and the upgrades you see in the interior are simply paint, leather, and veneer.
The job took a full year to complete, and ever since it's been completed, the amount of recognition has been overwhelming back home. Word and photos of the build have slowly been leaking out on this side of the world, especially after it won high honors at its big debut event—the Thailand Motor Show, the largest car show in the country.
