Kevin Hryciw drove down to SoCal from Canada just for a photo shoot

Spend just a few minutes with Kevin Hryciw, and you will likely come to the conclusion that this is one crazy dude from Alberta, Canada. After a funny exchange of emails and photos, he convinced us to do a photo shoot of his truck—and then we had the pleasure of meeting him in person. His energy and love of life (plus his love for his Ram 2500) is infectious. We love hanging around people like Kevin.
But a lot had to happen before a photo shoot could even begin. First, he had to get time off work. And if you have any idea how many hours a pipeline worker in Alberta puts in, you’d know it’s no easy task getting time off. After his vacation days were approved, Kevin had to drive about 1,300 miles to meet us. Then he had to spend a day or so cleaning the truck. But it was all worth it, he’ll tell you in a gushing way.
In fact, everything seems worth doing to Kevin, when you get to know him. He turned the trip to San Diego for the photo shoot into an adventure supreme. Kevin stopped off at the beach, Hollywood, and other sightseeing spots. And he arrived ready to go at the prescribed time at the photo shoot location.

"This truck may be expensive, Kevin says, but it has never left me stranded. No truck = no job."
After you get done being fascinated with Kevin as a person, you dig deeper into his truck and realize you really like it, too. What got Kevin motivated was his friend’s Mega Cab on 24x14 American Force wheels with an 8-inch lift kit. As Kevin says, “Everyone and their grandma has a 6-inch lifted truck on narrow rims.” Kevin decided to go bigger.
The ’12 Ram was lifted about 10 inches by the use of a 2-inch BDS spacer on top of an 8-inch coil spring lift. The truck has BDS long arms and Full Throttle 2.0 Emulsion non-reservoir chrome shocks. A dual steering stabilizer keeps the wheels going straight while a solid steel adjustable track bar on the front holds everything together. On the rear, BDS track bars keep the rearend planted on the ground. Steel braided brake lines and a new front driveshaft were added, too. The wheels are 20x12 Fuel Nutz, and the tires are 38x13.5-20 Toyo M/T.
Kevin painted the front bumper to match the white of the truck and then covered it with protective 3M tape. The tape is a lifesaver because Kevin truly works his truck over. “I haul thousands of pounds of equipment to and from work—sometimes on 500- to 600-mile road trips to get to the job site,” Kevin explains. “I spend a couple of weeks there then drive back home.” When not using the truck to haul stuff all over Western Canada, Kevin takes his Ski-Doo to the mountains for some fun.
