What Do Trucks Look Like Before Their Famous Shoot?

1995 Ford Ranger - Gary Donkers
"We built a new frame from scratch, and mounted the cab while it was still on the table. Then we took it all off the table, and started putting it back together. After every time we did something new to the truck, it was layed out for a quick pic and back to work!"
1991 Nissan Hardbody - Richard Whitehead
"I was cutting in some doors to fit onto a F-350. The paint code was written on the doors S1. I thought to myself, ‘I've never seen this color before on an F-350. It was a really nice midnight blue. After spraying the color on the jambs, the bodyman working on the truck, the one who wrote the paint code on them, came over there yelling at me with his broken English and little girl voice, ‘No, no, no, it's not blue it's white!' I said ‘that's not S1 that's Z1.' Oh well that's how I found my color."
1999 Chevy S-10 - Mark Hernandez
"Here are a few pics of the graphics being laid down in the bed. The new paint did more for my truck than I had first thought it could. This photo is from my second paint job, just before it was shot for MT. It never ran in the magazine like that."
2002 Toyota Tacoma - Keith Bryan
"When I first decided to redo the truck, I knew I wanted it to be nothing like what it was before. I had to get rid of the blue and go with what I had always wanted. My favorite color is red, so it was easy to pick a color. I wanted to do something that was clean but also with a retro look. Once the rendering was perfect my vision was set."
