When you own and run a construction company, making an impactful first impression helps get jobs and allows you to remain successful. Rob Whitman of Marco Island, Florida, knew it would take something unique and creative to make his impact. Born and raised in upstate New York, Rob grew up in an average, middle-class family. His father worked as a contractor but in his spare time built and raced vehicles. That passion was passed on to Rob. "My father was very particular," Rob says. "Mediocrity was unacceptable." Rob worked side by side with his father at every job he performed up until his passing.
Rob followed in his father's footsteps and built Whitman Industries based on impeccable quality, a high level of customer service, and personal integrity. In order to show the level of craftsmanship Rob and his company produce, he decided to purchase a work truck and take it to a different level.
He snagged a bone-stock '08 Ford F-250 4x4 Lariat and began searching for the right builder. He found Jordan Tadysak of Wicked Customs in neighboring Naples, Florida. After days of going back and forth, they agreed to completely tear apart the new Ford and rework it from the ground up.

Since this truck was for practical use, they didn't want to go too high, so the decision was to go with an 8.5-inch ProComp lift and include all chrome 2.0 Wicked shocks with rezzies. One of the biggest issues Rob encountered after the lift was the steering on the big F-250. Navigating through slower speeds and constant turning meant reworking the steering mechanism. Jordan added a built steering box, a heavy-duty steering pump, and a 1.75-inch hydro-assist cylinder to perfect the maneuvering.
Rob decided to give his Ford a little giddyup. The H&S Performance engine management system improved the 6.4L Performance Package III. A Sinister coolant filter system and K&N cold-air intake rounded out the engine upgrades. With these improvements, Jordan and his crew at Wicked Customs added the company's renowned floating traction bars to keep the axle from having any wrap while still allowing movement for towing, heavy driving, and harsh jobsites. Rob also opted for Mag-Hytec differential covers; Jordan put his spin on them by powdercoating them white and machining off the fins to flow with the suspension.
In order to maintain the armor for any job, Rob decided on Fab Fours bumpers. They were left black so they could be used daily without having to worry about scratches and scuffs. AMI billet door handles were added, along with a locking gas door and tailgate handle, each replacing the stock plastic originals. The ladder rack that was originally installed was removed and powdercoated black. White accents were added to blend into the truck.

Throughout the build, Rob maintained that quality was what he was striving for. He felt his truck should match his passion for his line of work. He reached that plateau and beyond. Rob wants to thank his incredible family, his wife Izabella, his two daughters Kloie and Emie, and the hardworking crew of Wicked Customs. As residents and hard workers of Marco Island, they want to give back to the community they live in. The winning combination of Rob Whitman and Wicked Customs proved to be the very best.
