When Antwan Odom wants a custom truck built, he wants it done right

Antwan Odom was a big-time football player. Big time. We’re talking the Tennessee Titans and the Cincinnati Bengals. His career shows 131 tackles and 23.5 sacks. In one game, he sacked Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers five times. So when he decides he wants a very cool custom truck, he’s not messing around. He has the money and the time to hire the right people to build something very special.
Antwan has a love of lifted trucks with big horsepower, and he was looking to build something one-off that would set him apart from the rest. He wanted a custom, handbuilt suspension, for example. No kits for Antwan. So he went to Rudy’s Diesel Performance in Durham, North Carolina. He wanted a place that could take care of everything for him with no lapses. A one-stop shop was what he wanted. And Aaron Rudolph’s team at Rudy’s was certainly up to the task.
The crew at Rudy’s dove into the job and really pulled off something special with this ’08 Ford F-250 crew cab shortbed pickup. The engine was completely built from the bottom up, starting with a custom long-block from Rudy’s. But it didn’t stop there, as a whole slew of custom parts was added and then tuned to put out formidable power and torque.
The suspension, shocks, axles, wheels, and tires were subbed out to Davis Off Road, as the crew at Rudy’s wanted something really, really unique to set this truck apart from the crowds. They got what they wanted! Every single bar was hand-welded and bent right in Davis Off Road’s Richmond, Virginia, shop. After the 20-inch lift was completed, Brian and Daniel Davis made sure every part was custom powdercoated.

  • Suspension: One-off subframe/cradle and four-link setup; straight on parallel four-link front and rear with track bars; the rear also has a complete bolt-in cradle to house the rear suspension (track bar, bumpstops, limiting straps, and coilovers); all link bars are 2-inch .250-wall DOM tubing with 1.25-inch chromoly Heim joints; after all suspension parts were completed it was stripped down and every piece was powdercoated Crimson Red, super chrome, or gloss black
  • Steering: Custom-bent 2-inch DOM tube with 1.25-inch Heim joints, and hydraulic assist
  • Shocks: The front has dual-rate 16-inch-travel 2.5-inch King coilovers with remote reservoirs and the rear has 12-inch-travel dual-rate 2.5-inch King coilovers with remote reservoirs
  • Axles: Both front and rear axles have been trussed and plated along with custom link mounts and coilover mounts; the front steering knuckles have been plated and gusseted to make the steering bolts double sheer
  • Bumpstops and Limiting Straps: The bumpstops are 4-inch-travel King units in custom handmade mounts with striking pads. The limit straps are quad-wound Synergy
  • Tires: 40x14.50x24 Interco Super Swamper M16
  • Wheels: 24x12 chromed American Force EVO
  • Bumpers: Front and rear bumpers are white color-matched Fab Fours; the front has a Warn winch
