Complete Customs Takes a Top-of-the-Line Ram to the Next Level

For most of us, owning a brand-new Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn would be a dream come true, since this top-of-the-line truck is one of the most powerful, luxurious, tough, stylish models on the market. For Onofre Aguirre, an oilfield worker from Midland, Texas, this high-end Ram served only as a starting point for his ultimate goal. So, he went down to the local dealer, shelled out some cash, and drove away in one -- in four-wheel-drive Mega Cab dualie configuration, of course. The new truck was then delivered to Complete Customs, in Odessa, Texas, where it would be built into something that far exceeded the norm.
Upon arriving at Complete Customs, the heavy duty Ram immediately went up on a lift and was stripped of its factory suspension components. In order to improve this dualie’s heavy-duty towing and hauling capabilities, a newly developed 8- to 10-inch Kelderman air-ride suspension system was installed. The Kelderman system allows the driver to lift or lower the truck’s stance 2 full inches at the push of a button, while also adding a smoother ride and load-leveling capabilities. Now that the truck was riding higher, Complete Customs carefully selected a wheel and tire combination to match the new look. American Force sent over a polished set of its newest 24-inch forged dualie wheel, dubbed the Impact, and Nitto was sourced for a set of six 38-inch Trail Grappler M/T tires. The truck’s new stance looked mean, and it would’ve been easy to stop here, but this project was far from over.

To continue to refine the truck’s looks and differentiate it from its stock origins, more exterior modifications were necessary. First, Complete Customs ordered a set of Fusion fabricated steel bumpers, which could easily shrug off any dents or scratches the truck might encounter in the outside world. For an OEM look, the bumpers were sprayed to match the factory gold paint, and a total of seven Rigid LED lights were affixed for incredible nighttime visibility. Monster Hooks fitted to the bumpers and tow hitch add both functionality and an aggressive look. Next, the Ram’s factory grille was cut away and replaced with a new Rigid unit that was custom-fabricated by Complete Customs. The new grille also incorporates three more Rigid LED lights into its paint-matched perimeter. Even the factory headlights have been subtly modified by Plain an Simple by Design with two-tone painted housings and Complete Customs’ logo etched into the projector lenses.
Under the hood, the Ram’s 6.7L Cummins was left largely untouched, with Amsoil fluids keeping it properly lubricated and an MBRP exhaust giving the diesel engine a throaty roar. Inside the Mega Cab, passengers are greeted with luxurious embroidered leather upholstery, woodgrain trim, copious legroom, and reclining rear seats, making this truck perfect for long cruises on the Texas highways. At the rear of the truck, an UnderCover Flex tonneau folds back to reveal SwingCase storage compartments and a Bubba Rope recovery rope.
With some carefully selected parts and plenty of elbow grease, the crew at Complete Customs took this already high-end Ram from ordinary to extraordinary, and owner Onofre Aguirre couldn’t be happier. The build was completed just in time for 2013’s annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, where it made its debut on display with American Force. The owner would like to thank all his sponsors for supplying parts for the build, the hardworking and dedicated team at Complete Customs for bringing it all together, and his friends and family for their support.
