2014 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 - Big Red
KEG Media Strikes Again
Over the past decade or so the name KEG Media has become synonymous with some of the baddest lifted trucks on the planet. But Robbie Bryant and the KEG Media crew aren’t just putting in work designing these beastly machines for companies nationwide, they also have quite a few of their own wild builds that have graced these pages over the last few years. Robbie first got his hands dirty with custom lowered trucks and hot rods, and has since put plenty of “notches in the belt” with numerous lifted trucks that have gained a ton of notoriety.
Always one to push the boundaries and stay ahead of the trends, Robbie wanted to build one of the first sky-high 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. So before they were even available to the public the KEG Media team pulled a few strings and got one on order and began to plan their SEMA build from the ground up. One of the perks of being an industry insider and working closely with manufacturers happens to be the ability to deliver your currently stock vehicle to friends for “prototyping” parts in exchange for the use of your truck. For this particular build Robbie relied on his buds over at Full Flex Customs to handle the majority of the build duties.
Full Flex Customs teamed up with N-Fab to prototype all of the bumpers for production and work on the built-in Rigid Industries lighting setup. Concurrently, Full Flex was able to hunt down one of the first Bulletproof 12-inch lift kits for the 2014s and start the tear down. As with most SEMA projects, the deadline was stiff, and the hours were long. But the complete build was to be pulled off in just a little over three months. So, needless to say, the plan had to be solid, and the parts had to be on-hand in order for things to go just right and hit the deadline.
With a team who has worked together and partnered up on several successful projects, this build was actually like clockwork for the smooth operating professionals that were a part of this build team. Full Flex had the Bulletproof setup installed in no time, and built a custom two-link rear setup to utilize Icon Vehicle Dynamics coilovers all the way around. This added another 3 inches, giving the Silverado a total of 15 inches of lift over stock. And that’s not including the massive 24x15 American Force wheels wrapped with 40x15.5x24 Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains! With all of the lift components powdercoated red by Spectrum Powder Coating, you better believe that this beast was well on its way to breaking necks. The suspension came together without any issue and the wheel/tire combo passed all of the clearance checks with flying colors, so next up it was time to tackle the rest of the exterior and interior.
For the outside the KEG Media crew designed a custom wrap to complete this Chevy’s menacing appearance. Tony at Redline Graphics was on deck to print and complete the wrap install once the rest of the components fell into place. The cabin had to have the same level of “custom” or it just wouldn’t fly, so Full Flex got down to business with some color matching and installation of Kicker Audio components. A complete Red leather interior was the completing piece of the puzzle. When taken as a whole, it’s easy to see the big, bad, and menacing look of Big Red—but upon closer inspection, it’s all of the little details, such as the Amp Research hidden auto steps and custom N-Fab bumpers that really complete this one-of-a-kind build.
Once again Robbie Bryant and the KEG Media crew do not disappoint and have come to the plate with another very impressive build. This quenched our appetite for sky-high customs for this month, but we know all too well that Robbie has something new up his sleeve for 2015. Looking forward to seeing the next creation—stay tuned!
