2013 Ram 2500 - Game Over

Andrew Lowe’s Game Changer

SEMA, SEMA, SEMA—it seems the SEMA build talk is ever present when visiting high-end builds of this caliber, especially Truckin cover truck material. Well, that’s no coincidence since SEMA certainly brings out the best in both builders and aftermarket automotive companies to duke it out every year at this trade-only event. Andrew Lowe and his 2013 Ram 2500 are no different.
That name might sound familiar to our loyal readers because Andrew has had several previous Truckin mag feature trucks along with claiming a couple 8-Lug covers to add even more bragging rights to that list—let’s just say that his walls certainly aren’t bare. Andrew has always been a huge Dodge Ram fan and has built several including a ’bagged ’03, a lifted ’06, and a massive ’12, so when searching for a SEMA build it was fairly safe to say that a new Ram would be the ticket.

Andrew picked up a 2013 Ram 2500 with the 6.7L Cummins and this time around he wanted to surpass his other builds in every category. Looking to go all out in a matter of only a few months he knew he would need some serious talent in his corner. Andrew approached Showtime Metal Works with his build ideas and they were down for the cause to transform his Ram into the beast that you see pictured here.
Showtime Metal Works (STMW) handled most of the build and with a crew chock-full of badass custom builders, Andrew knew he was in good hands. Beginning with the custom 10-inch lift, STMW went with a Top Gun Customz coilover lift and got down to business by fabricating their own custom rear air suspension setup to ensure this Ram would still handle, tow, and ride as well as it did from the factory. Night Hawk coilovers, Hellwig sway bars, PML diff covers and transmission pan, and Firestone airbags all play a calculated role in this department. With onboard air courtesy of Viair compressors paired with a Specialty Suspension seamless air tank, and for those times when he needs to “wake up” a driver asleep at the wheel in front of him, Andrew wanted a full set of Klein train horns readied at the flick of a switch.
Detailed to the max and powdercoated and polished, once the suspension was dialed in it was time to bolt up the massive 38x13.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers with LRG 101 24x12 rollers to see how this combo looked. With an overwhelming “Yes!” from both the crew and owner, it was safe to say that they chose right when picking the perfect wheel/tire combo for this beast. Next up, it was time to give both the exterior and interior the same custom treatments. For the interior, the crew chose an array of Kicker components, to include custom-mounting Kicker Marine towers in the bed for that “extra” bit of tunes when out on the town. The exterior overhaul was a bit more extensive, including full custom bumpers from STMW, A Royalty Core grille Rigid LED bars, Retro Shop custom HIDs, EGR fender flares, and Anzo taillights to round out the aggressive look that Andrew was after with this build. The tailgate received some extra attention, with custom airbrush work from Erik at Exile Air Brush.
For the last piece of the puzzle and with the curtain drawing near, the crew hustled to detail the engine bay and add a bit of performance to the mix. A combo of S&B, Edge, MagnaFlow and others woke this beast up and easily brought the 6.7 Cummins to life. Custom builds such as this are absolutely all about the “complete package”—if you go all out on the suspension but leave the engine fairly stock, you might not be 100 percent happy with the end result. Not that you should build your truck based on what a magazine is looking for, but if that’s one of your goals, our advice is definitely to take a look at the complete package and if there’s something you’re not completely happy with, chances are the magazine editors noticed it also. Andrew is no rookie; he left no stone un-turned. When all was said and done, he definitely brought yet another impressive complete package together with the build of Game Over.
