2013 Ram 2500 4x4 - Camo - Flaunt!

Invisible To The Naked Eye

Tim Nicolau has built some memorable Truckin feature trucks in the recent past. From his gargantuan black and green 2012 Ford F-250 and his copper 2012 Ram 3500 dualie, to the gold-plated masterpiece 2013 Ram 2500 that graced our cover last year. This time Tim was out to make his new project stand out by making it blend into the scenery. A 2013 Ram 2500 4x4 was given over to the team at Tim Nicolau Designs to do their masterwork and get back to nature at the same time.
With a little bit of a wink and a smile to Mossy Oak, Tim decided to take the spankin’ new Ram and give it the camo treatment by Team Realtree. But that’s where the winking ceased as the entire outside skin got wrapped in TR’s Max 4 Camo by CamoWraps.com. Tim then approached the guys at Dynamic Finishes out of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and said, “I’d like to get a few truck parts hydro-dipped in camo. Will that be an issue?” And they, of course, said, “Yes,” not realizing that Tim wanted to do the headlight pods, rear sway bars, shock mounts, upper ’bag mounts, lower ’bag mounts, the shock brackets, axle mounting brackets, steering stabilizer bracket, trailing arms, endlinks, chassis mount, diff covers, and almost every other suspension-related piece. Oh, and just for good measure, he took the American Force wheels and dipped the center cap and the eight-star plate too.

And then Tim furrowed his brow and said, “Ya know, I gotta have more camo!” and got busy on the interior. Giving Max 4 a glowing endorsement, he dipped the dash, door panels, A/C vents, and center console to match the outside. The seats got stitched in two-tone brown leather from Katzkin with a Team Realtree logo where your cerebellum goes.
A call was put in to Kelderman for a 5/6-inch lift kit with programmable AccuAir TouchPad interface, Firestone airbags with two three-gallon air tanks and Fox 2.0 Factory Series Smooth Body shocks with remote reservoirs to bring the Ram up to a respectable height.
The list of upgrades does not stop with the paint and suspension though. Front and back got Fab Fours bumpers with 40- and 20-inch LED lightbars up front with a Warn 5,000-pound winch to pull himself out of trouble, Fab Fours also supplied the side steps, a Rhino Roof Rack with a 50-inch LED lightbar over the windshield with 30 inchers on each side and a 40 incher on the headache rack. Plain and Simple LED headlights and taillights went in place of the stock sets as four Rigid D-Series Duallys were added for a few extra lumens. The undercarriage gets properly lit up with 12 A-Series LED pods from Rigid Industries. The bed got outftted with a Back Bone Rack with Skull Screen, a 52-gallon fuel tank replaced the stock tank, a 40-gallon Transfer Flow Pumpstation with tool storage was dropped in the bed and a huge two-compartment Truck Vault was added. The 6.7L Cummins got an H&S Performance Tuner and K&N airbox, and now breathes through a MBRP 5-inch exhaust. This incognito bruiser rides on 20x12 American Force FP8 wheels with 35/12.50R20 Toyo Open Country that sit below Bushwacker fender fares.

Tim couldn’t be happier with the result of his latest creation. “I built this truck in the way that I would want to have it for myself,” he explained, “It’s at a height that’ll clear most terrain, but can also be driven safely on the streets.” Tim wanted to send out a huge thank you to all the folks who made this stunning truck happen. “I had a whole load of good people contribute to this project and wanted to make sure everyone got on the list: Kelderman Suspension, CamoWraps. com, Dynamic Coatings, Toyo Tires, American Force Wheels, PML Covers, Backbone Truck Racks, Plain & Simple by Design, Fox Shocks, Royalty Core Grilles, Rigid Industries, Fab Fours Bumpers, Transfer Flow, Truck Vault, Rhino Rack, Katzins, WeatherTech floor mats, Bushwhacker Body Gear, Warn Winches, Recon lighting, H&S Performance, K&N, and MBRP exhaust.”
