Spring California Truck Jamboree 2003 - Custom Truck Show
A Warm Day Full Of Hot Minis
The Spring California Truck Jamboree is held every May when the California show season begins. This year's Jam attracted showgoers from all over California and beyond. The 11th Jam was no different than shows from years past in that some of the finest mini-trucks around were in attendance. One hard-core enthusiast (see this month's cover feature) even drove his truck 28 hours from Canada to attend the spring classic. That is the type of attention this show attracts. Brightly colored and laid-out minis covered the field across from the main stage, where music was playing all day and the trophy ceremony took place. As always, the Spring Jam bikini contest attracted many a tired show attendee and kept them entertained when the mid-afternoon sun began to take its toll on those who'd been there since the wee hours of the morning to set up show rides.
There was a fair share of under-construction trucks in attendance, too. Some of the owners wanted to show off what they'd been building but hadn't quite finished yet. In addition to the entertainment provided at this event, the World Famous Master Image Customs brought out a mobile half-pipe for skateboarding demonstrations throughout the day.
The vendor area was packed with everything you could think of to customize your ride. House of Tints brought out its new booth and the Hot Wheels Steel Flame that it fabricated to match the windows to the liquid-metal flamed job. Other vendors provided displays of products, including Moreno Customs, Stitchcraft Interiors, Kicker, Lexani Wheels, and Sir Michaels, to name a few.
After the bikini contest, the judges went around the show to make their picks for the California Truck Jamboree's Best Of awards. Mini Truckin' cover and feature trucks took top honors in their classes and went home with bragging rights until everyone meets up again for the Summer Jamboree or next year's Spring event.
