When you sit back and think about what some of the top shows in the country are, you normally only come up with a few. One of those few is usually Scr8pfest, which is put on by Pebble Pushers at the Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The club members have been putting on this show for seven years now, and it just keeps growing in size and reputation.
The 2004 show was no exception, with almost 500 entries and more spectators than a county fair. One thing about this show which enables it to stand out from the rest is the fact that not only does the quantity of rides grow each year, but the level of craftsmanship gets better as well. We saw more trailers in this show's side lot than we had at any other event we'd attended.

For those on the East Coast, this is one of those shows that some people make a point to finish their rides in time for a debut. These guys also throw the biggest and best draggin' contest around. After a day of checking out all the custom rides, people started lining up on either side of the dragstrip to make sure they got a good view of the light show that was put on by more than 40 draggers. Come Sunday morning, things got kicked off with the hydro contest, shortly followed by one heck of a burn-out contest. When it came time to hand out the awards, the competitors knew they were going to get some of the best around. Pebble Pushers gave out neon wall clocks with Best of Show printed on them to the top car and truck there and some of the most unique unfinished class trophies we've ever seen. Being that these trophies are going to unfinished rides, it was a good idea to have the trophies unfinished. The colored bars were primered, and the trophies were taken apart. All those winners got a box of primered trophy parts that still needed to be finished, just like the rides they were showing.
By the time the 2004 event began, the Pushers had already begun planning out the 2005 show. It's going to be held July 2-3 at the Rowan County Fairgrounds in Salisbury, North Carolina. You can bet your money that this show will be one of the biggest on the East Coast, so make sure you don't miss it. For more information, check out www.pebblepushers.com
