A Look At What Is Coming To Vegas
This '95 four-door Blazer will be completely transformed into a Colorado, thanks to Clyde, Jack, and the guys from Silver Star Customs in Mississippi. You'll be able to check it out in Viair's booth. Barnyard Customs will supply upper and lower control arms for the front, while a Toyota Supra independent rearend will be out back. It will roll on 22-inch BAD K5 rims and be stopped by a complete set of Stainless Steel Brakes. Power will come via a chromed-out '95 Corvette LT1 from Street and Performance, and if that's not enough for you, the interior will be filled with an assortment of Memphis Car Audio components.
MBRP will be transforming an '05 Dakota quad cab shortbed into a full-blown dualie pickup. The frame will be lengthened to accommodate a longbed where the shortbed once laid. Terry DeLong of Pro Finish will be manufacturing a custom fiberglass dualie bed for this project that will be narrowed and will have fenders integrated into the bed sides to allow the huge 19x6-inch Brentz Wheels/Bridgestone Potenza combo to tuck up under the newly formed wheelwells. Pro Finish is also supplying a full Dakota "shaker" hood for the project, to give the truck that true Mopar look and feel. In true self-promoting fashion, MBRP will fit the truck with the company's Cuda-style dual stainless steel exhaust, along with other cool power parts from companies such as AIRAID, JBA, Nitrous Express, and Optima. Air Ride Technologies and Stainless Steel Brakes will also be under the truck, completing the chassis. Outside, you'll find DuPont hues covering the custom parts from Pro Glass, ARE, and Street Scene. Crack the door open, and you'll find a complete Katzkin interior kit, Auto Meter gauges, and a slue of Harman Kardon stereo equipment.
The '05 Ford F-150 Eliminator will debut in the Ford Corporate exhibit in the main hall. This vehicle features a new body package by RKSport that was inspired by the F-150 Lightning concept. Other features on this vehicle include Mike Face-applied custom Silver White Pearl paint by Auto Air Colors, a lowered suspension by Advantage Performance, 22-inch custom alloy wheels by Oasis, and low-profile Toyo tires. Inside the F-150 Eliminator, the Katzkin custom Parchment Pearl leather interior is accented with Woodview carbon-fiber interior trim. Under the hood will be a 5.4L engine, fitted with a fully polished Kenne Bell intercooled supercharger system and a set of MagnaFlow pipes that should help the Ford tip the dyno at 700 hp, while eight-piston calipers, matched with 15-inch rotors by Stainless Steel Brakes, put the whoas to the beast.
Mike Cotton of Midwest Images in Illinois is laying the smack-down on this '80 Chevrolet Silverado. The truck will feature a full Chassis Tech suspension setup to complement the 7-inch body drop that will plant this sucker flat on the ground. Powered by an NOS-fed LS6 with MSD coil packs, it will have no problem roasting the 24-inch Intro rolling stock. House of Kolor will be used to cover all the shaved panels, and Mike is working on functional one-piece windows. Inside, the smooth dash will be littered with Auto Meter gauges and flow down into a custom console. If you want to see it in person, take a trip over to the Chassis Tech booth.
True Flow is taking the company's air cleaners higher with this F-150. When completed, this Blue Oval will sport a Fabtech 8-inch lift with Dirt Logic adjustable coilovers up front, Fox adjustable nitrogen shocks, and Firestone Ride Rite airbags in the rear. It is rolling on 22-inch Weld/AFX Fenix rims skinned with 37-inch Toyo Mud-Terrains. Stainless Steel Brakes will provide the 17-inch four-piston rotor and caliper upgrade to complement the rolling stock. In-car entertainment will come from a Kenwood 815 touch-screen DVD/CD head unit, three 12-inch JL Audio subwoofers, two JL Audio amplifiers, JL Audio component speakers in every door, a Planet Audio parametric equalizer, and a couple of Visual Logic 7-inch monitors for good measure. Under the House of Kolor purple, pinstriped, and flamed hood will be a True Flow cold-air intake system, Flowmaster exhaust pipes, and a Superchips microtuner.
If this truck looks familiar, that's because we used it in our two-part airbag installation tech in our Oct. and Nov. '05 issues. Owner and builder Kevin Whipps has changed the truck a lot since then, with updated LS Trim, Escalade handles, pinstriping by Rob Olin, Street Scene signal mirrors, and a Sir Michaels roll pan. By the time SEMA hits, the truck will be channeled 2-3/4 inches, the interior will be finished by Todd Jewbert in suede and leather, and it will be sporting a killer stereo. With companies such as Leer, Sir Michaels, Street Scene, Belltech, Slam Specialties, KP Components, Viair, Nitto, Bonspeed, The Interior Shop, and others behind it, this truck should be something to see.
This crazy '95 GMC Jimmy-with what has to be numerous hours of airbrush work-will be on display for Sicilian Forged Wheels. Featuring an underwater theme by Mark Remling of Coast Airbrush and Ryno of Blasted and with paints from House of Kolor and Vertis, this thing calls out to Captain Nemo. Nick Sepulveda at Anaheim Prestige smoothed out the body, and Art from Go EZ Customs brought the truck down to earth. The theme will carry into the interior, featuring tentacles holding the 5.1 sound system covered in materials for Enduratex and paint from Alsa. There is a lot to see on this one, so be sure to check it out.
This F-150 will be parked in APC's booth to showcase the company's new line of lenses, lighting, and off-road tube works. The truck gets its stance from a CST long-travel suspension kit with Fox coilovers, Deaver leaf springs, 17-inch Mickey Thompson Classic Lock wheels, Mickey Thompson 35x12.50R17 Baja Claw Radials, and a wider rear axle from Drivetrain Direct. The front and back will be re-skinned with fiberglass pieces to give the truck more tire clearance and a cool look. JBA headers and an after-cat exhaust will add some ponies, and a Line-X spray-on bedliner will keep what's left of the bed safe from damage. Tim Rush at Head Case Designs will spray the truck in an undisclosed color. We guess APC likes to keep some things secret.
Intro wheels will be bringing two trucks with them to Sin City. Bryan Stern's '03 Silverado features a small-block fitted with parts from MagnaCharger, JBA Headers, K&N Engineering, Flex-a-lite, and Optima Batteries. Art at Go EZ Customs fully 'bagged the truck and installed the Air Zenith compressors and the four-corner Baer Brakes system. The truck rides on Intro wheels and Pirelli Tires and also features parts from Auburn Gear, Line-X, Enduratex, Rockford Fosgate, Street Scene, Trenz, Meguiar's, Sir Michaels, Nu-Image, and Dakota Digital. Revo at Stitchcraft wrapped the interior, while Steve Vandemon sprayed the subtle stripes. South Coast Speed and Sound created the sound system. The '03 Dodge Ram quad cab will feature some custom stitchwork from Radi's Custom Upholstery and will ride on an Intro/BFGoodrich combo. Nick at Wicked Customs, where we snapped the pic, will have the flamejob completed in time for you to check it out.
Sir Michaels will be drawing a crowd with this '65 Routemaster double-decker bus. The whole thing will be re-skinned with new sheetmetal and will house all of the company's roll pans. Meetings will be held on the upper tier, while showgoers can float through the lower deck looking at products. Mike Burley, owner of Sir Michaels, flew to England and hand-picked this particular bus, threw down some British pounds and drove it to the dock. Once it had traversed the sea, he picked it up for the journey to the shop, but little did he know that the diesel engine has an in-city-only 35-mph throttling governor on it, so needless to say, the trip home was slow as she goes. Besides ripping out the governor, the big bus will receive chrome wheels, a fresh paintjob, and a few stereo components before rolling into the hall in Vegas.
