Unaware of what was to become of the town of Biloxi, Mississippi, the killer show/party known as Scrapin' The Coast was about to go off big time. We arrived Friday afternoon to some typical Southern wet weather and decided to rest up before starting the weekend's festivities. After refreshing, we headed down to the coliseum to offload a buddy's truck and check out the concert that was being put on by a local radio station. Once we arrived, we realized the bands performing weren't little local groups but were actually major-label rockers Crossfade and Seether. Unloading a rocker-dragging Blazer at a rock concert was truly a first - it was like having our very own theme music.

Saturday morning, after a good night's sleep, we were off to the show. The place was seriously packed with some of the slickest rides in the country. Our poor cameras were working overtime and by lunch we already had one memory-card full and one set of batteries dead. Granted there were some very nice rides there that we have been seeing at shows for some time (which have already graced these pages), but there were also plenty that were new to the scene and were clearly going to be ready for features in this rag sometime soon.

When you spend all day walking around a show in the Southern heat and humidity, it's absolutely a must to take a second, and maybe even a third, shower. Once we were squeaky clean and had some food in our stomachs, we headed down to the local dragstrip to check out all the action. The promoters for STC are in cahoots (yes, that's a real word) with the owners of the dragstrip and everyone attending the show was invited to come out and see what kind of times they could turn on the 1/4-mile track. This proved to be pretty cool to watch, but what everyone was really waiting for was the bikini contest, which was also held at the track (it's private property; you do the math). Yes, it is called a bikini contest, but once it was over, we were hard-pressed to find a bikini anywhere (except maybe the floor). Isn't this a great country?!

Sunday continued on with the gorgeous but hot weather from Saturday and helped to wrap up one hell of a great weekend. If you've never attended this show, make sure to check it out at, and see what you're missing. Also, in an effort to help out the mini-trucker victims of hurricane Katrina we have put together a little something on our Web site. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected by this event. For more information about how you can help, please visit

Now before we close out this article, Justin would like to thank some people who helped make his weekend a good one. Just to let you know, he had a very bad start when his truck died on him, but two people (strangers to him before that Friday) stepped up to the plate and helped Justin out big time. This very special thanks goes out to Jeff at Advance Auto Parts in Chipley, Florida, and Q-ball's new buddy Keith. Thanks, guys! This wouldn't have been possible without you.
