The hype for the '05 SEMA Show didn't disappoint, as it was bigger than ever. With a record number of vendors this year and hundreds of vehicles on display, electrified enthusiasts as well as industry professionals flocked to the Las Vegas Convention Center from November first through the fourth.
Covering three enormous buildings, there was no shortage of people bitching about how much their feet hurt. The talk of the show on the mini side would have to be the Viair booth and the two insane Chevys. Farva's Blazerado (rendering featured in our January '05 issue) made it out of the shop and under the bright lights of the convention center. CCE also brought out their roadstered and body dropped Colorado, which hasn't even burned off a full tank of gas yet. These vehicles made the miles of walking worth it.

Lexani shocked the rim world with a million-dollar set of wheels that were encrusted with diamonds and sapphires, which comes complete with a Bentley and a bodyguard for a year. The Eastcoast Ryders were rolling hard with 28-inch wheels on lifted Caprices and such. The new trend of the mini? I think not. Hundreds of gorgeous models were on-hand as always to steal the attention from the millions of dollars in vehicles that had so much blood, sweat, and tears put into them.

The big sight outside would have to be the enormous showing that Overhaulin' had. A complete build of a vehicle was going on all during the show in typical Foose fashion. It was something to see a SEMA-quality vehicle being built at the show. On the flip note, Lamborghini doors on Chrysler 300's with 22's could practically be bought at the dealership on the week of SEMA.
To make the week even better, there was a full-blown custom show at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Friday night after SEMA was over. This brought out a couple hundred of the finest vehicles from SEMA as well as the local area. Trophies came in the form of gold and vinyl records that had been mounted in plaques for the winners to hang in their trophy rooms.
