2006 Forbidden Fantasy - Custom Truck Show
Forbidden Fantasy '06
Forbidden Fantasy (FFF) has thrown this show for nine years, and by the looks of it, this club is not going to stop anytime soon. For the last seven years, this show has pulled 500-plus vehicles, and in the last two years more than 700, making this the largest one-day show thrown by a truck club in the nation. This club has always pulled together and risen above any problems that have come along. And for this year's show, Mother Nature finally had something to say and threw everything she had (even left-over truck parts) at this club.
Wind, rain, hail, thunder, lightning, and temperatures in the freezing-ass low-30s didn't even phase them, as they set the stage for more than 700 vehicles, 30-plus vendors, and thousands of spectators that journeyed from all over the country to attend. Sunday morning started out great-the sun was shining, showgoers filled the park, and the whole entire fairgrounds was covered with top-quality show vehicles.
Sometime about 2 p.m., Mother Nature was done with everybody having fun and tried to bring her thunder, and in mini-trucker fashion, everyone stuck it out. About an hour later, the weather gave up and everything was back to normal. Madhouse FX kept the thousands in attendance entertained, playing some sounds that could be heard throughout the park, thanks to Alex and the boys from Pro-Stage for the awesome setup with the satellite speakers and kick-ass stage. Mini Truck Mayhem and Cal Truck Jam supplied a few hoodies and shirts to toss out to the crowd throughout the day. Hats off to everyone in FFF for pulling off yet another great show, despite the weather. Local Finesse walked away with most vehicles in show, and of course, for the sixth year in a row, Severed Ties walked away with the lowest club in show.
Next year will be the 10-year anniversary of the Forbidden Fantasy show, and they have already started putting the next one together. The dates will be March 10-11, 2007, so make sure you have the vacation time, mark it on your calendar, book your plane tickets and hotel rooms-whatever you need-because this will not be a show to miss. There will be events throughout the day, and for the grand prize giveaway, the FFF crew is building a rare '87 Toyota Ex-Cab longbed manual transmission turbo. This truck will be a full show truck and given away to one lucky entrant. For more information on how to enter and to follow along on the buildup, go to www.fffshow.notlong.com.
Forbidden Fantasy would like to thank all the vendors, and everyone who has supported this show through the years and for making this the largest one-day show thrown by a truck club in the nation. And they hope to see everyone come out for the tenth annual show.
