Srapin' The Coast 2006 Custom Truck Show - Unstoppable

Hurricane Katrina Couldn't Keep The Gulf Coast's Premier Show Down

John Jackson –
Feb 1, 2007
Photographers: John Jackson
Show name:
Scrapin' the Coast 2006
Dates:
June 24-25, 2006
Venue (city/state):
Biloxi, Mississippi
Spectator attendance:
More than 8,000
Total vehicle entrants:
1,150
Special awards given:
Custom-made airbrushed mini surfboards were handed out for Best Of awards.
Fast facts:
Hurricane Katrina wiped out the city of Biloxi, but Greg and his crew worked many long hours to make the show happen anyway. While the show was going on, FEMA was still using the inside of the convention center as their disaster relief headquarters.
Special events:
The infamous bikini contest and drag racing were held at local Biloxi drag strip. Hours of dragging in front of the host hotel rivals any organized dragging contest at other shows.
Sponsors:
Never Satisfied Customs, Kutting Edge Graphics, BAD, Lo Gear, Drop 'Em Wear? clothing, Kustomz Ink, House of Kolor, Tire Kingdom, Champ Audio, Treo, and Tuner Plus
