75 Chrome's Pride and Polish 2009 - Shiny, Colorful, and Really Big!
The 18-Wheelers On Display At 75 Chrome Were Amazing!
Yeah, we know there might be a few extra lugs on these wheels than our title might suggest, but if you appreciate a fine-looking truck, we think you will enjoy this collection. Every year, the folks at 75 Chrome in Wildwood, Florida, invite some of the coolest custom semis in the country to participate in their annual Pride and Polish. 75 Chrome is well known to truckers throughout the country for its wide selection of big rig accessories, offering everything from chrome and lights to showers and a game room. Their event, now in its 11th year, draws an amazing collection of custom 18-wheelers, with some arriving at the Florida location from as far away as Canada, Minnesota, and California. More than half of the highly customized rigs on display at this year's event were genuine over-the-road trucks, with loads scheduled for Monday after the show. The classes included working trucks and pure show trucks-with or without trailers. Unless you checked the card in the window, it was hard to tell one from the other, since the working trucks were that good.
As exciting as it was to spend the day examining a highly customized group of big rigs, the fun didn't end there. When the sun went down, a whole new show began, as the 75 Chrome parking lot was bathed in a rainbow of color. Thousands of neon tubes, LEDs, and auxiliary lights illuminated the trucks inside and out. As brightly lighted at night as they were colorfully painted during the day, the trucks added a new nighttime dimension to the event. Combine about three dozen glowing semis with live country music from the Matt Coleman Band, and you have the perfect ending to a great weekend.
