What's a road trip without a little detour? Check out these sights and send us a postcard to let us know if we wasted your time.
World’s Largest Prairie Chicken: Rothsay, Minnesota
What can we say? It’s a big-ass, 13-foot-tall chicken. What else would you expect to find in Minnesota besides tasty lutefisk?
International Towing And Recovery Museum: Chattanooga, Tennessee
The old saying goes “Necessity is the the mother of invention.” This is definitely true for the automotive industry. Cars break down, therefore, cars need to be towed away. Blammo! The tow-truck is invented. This place has it all on display including the “world’s fastest wrecker,” a ’79 Chevy Silverado that clocked 130 mph at Talladega Raceway.
Duct Tape Capitol Of The World: Avon, Ohio
It’s no mystery why this city can tout such an impressive moniker, Duct tape is manufactured by the company who calls this town home. Swing by Father’s Day weekend for the annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival. We can’t wait!
Bishop Castle: Pueblo, Colorado
John Bishop, the man behind this awesome place, has been building his castle completely by himself for the past 40 years. Future plans include a moat, drawbridge, and a second castle for his wife.
Segway: Feel The Excitement!: Branson, Missouri
Imagine a place where you can jump on a two-wheeled Segway and race around the parking lot with your friends. Imagine no more, this place is it! Can you feel the excitement? This should be training grounds for mall cops everywhere.
Statue Of A Human “Radio”: Anderson, South Carolina
James Robert “Radio” Kennedy has a life-size bronze statue standing outside his old Alma Mater in South Carolina. James was the inspiration for the film Radio starring Cuba Gooding Jr.
Eartha, The World’s Largest Rotating Globe: Yarmouth, Maine
Eartha the giant globe has a diameter of 41 feet, 11/2 inches at the equator. That means you could fit...(figures math out in head)... way more than five of these across the real Earth. Sweet!
