One of the largest diesel races in North America happens every year in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It's hosted by Barry Voltner, owner of North American Diesel Performance (or NADP for short), and features sled pulling, drag racing, a show 'n' shine, and a burnout contest. Heck, there was even a jet truck! What really struck us about the event, however, was the turnout. More than 100 trucks were entered in the drag racing portion of the event, and folks came from all over Canada to participate, or even just watch. The stands were full, the NHRDA-sponsored drag racing was smoothly run, and everybody left excited and ready to come back next year.
