West Coast Custom Rigs Super Show And Drags

Racing Diesels Attract a Crowd at Toyota Speedway

Jason ThompsonOct 1, 2011
The West Coast Custom Rigs Super Show and Drags in Irwindale, California, is a family friendly event that took place on Father’s Day. It was a perfect treat for dad and included a live band, food, and rock climbing. But we discovered what got everyone’s attention: eighth-mile diesel drag racing. Some races were diesel versus gas. Others included big rigs that looked like they were going scary fast. Cummins, Power Stroke, and Duramax rivalries also flared. For more information on next year’s event, check out www.westcoastrigs.com.

The engine is a twin-turbocharged Detroit Diesel on nitrous and the transmission is an Allison 740 automatic. The front axle is aluminum and the rear axle is an Eaton.
