XDP's 2013 Open House - Jersey Diesels
Big Rigs, Pickups, Dynos, and a Dragstrip
Each September, thanks to Xtreme Diesel Performance’s (XDP) annual open house, we’re reminded just how many diesel enthusiasts reside in the northeastern portion of the United States. For the 2013 gathering, XDP brought in two mobile chassis dynamometers for a dyno shootout, held a show ’n’ shine competition, and treated spectators to great food and live music. In addition, industry representatives from ATS, BD Diesel Performance, MBRP, Edge Products, K&N, AFE, and Calibrated Power Solutions set up a large vendors’ midway in the company’s parking lot.
"Take it from us, seeing Class 8 trucks click off 13- and 14-second quarter-miles is a sight to behold."
Luckily for us, XDP hosts its annual open house the same weekend as the U.S. Diesel Truckin’ Nationals—so we were also able to visit nearby Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, for the yearly big rig show. Take it from us, seeing Class 8 trucks click off 13- and 14-second quarter-miles is a sight to behold. With thousands in attendance, hundreds of commercial and pickup trucks racing, and no shortage of chrome in the show ’n’ shine, it’s no wonder this is the biggest diesel event in the Northeast.
