SEMA 2014: 16 Trucks to Whet the Appetite
Every November, hundreds of custom trucks, vans, and cars congregate at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas for a week of automotive madness. The sheer volume of fantastic customs is overwhelming even to show veterans like us.
The 2014 Show has not disappointed, as thousands of buyers and exhibitors have filled the Las Vegas Convention Center, bringing with them tons of automotive eye candy. True to what we have come to expect, this year’s show has attracted dozens of lifted (and some lowered) fullsize 8-lug trucks, as well as some of the rarer breeds of 8-lug vehicles and conversions. In this segment, we aim to highlight just a few of the impressive South Hall builds that we have come across during just one show day.
The great thing about heavy-duty trucks is that they are an ideal blank canvas for tons of products, like wheels, tires, bumpers, lifts, wraps, custom paint jobs, lights, grilles, and other accessories. They’re also generally harder to miss than custom cars since they are simply so big. A truck’s versatility makes for the perfect SEMA project vehicle, as we have seen year after year.
There’s been no shortage of new 2015 GM HD trucks (Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra) and we have come across multiple builds, including a good amount of dualies. As with any show of custom trucks, there’s a good contingent of Ram HD and Ford Super Duty trucks as well. Stick with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as we attempt to capture all the HD truck action at SEMA 2014!
