Goodguys 15th Meguiars Del Mar Nationals
Best in the West
The Goodguys 15th Meguiars Del Mar Nationals strolled into sunny Southern California promising three days cruising’, showing off, rumbling engines and a whole fairgrounds worth of fun. There were plenty of vendors, a healthy swap meet section with many cars for sale, a group of vintage dragsters lighting up their hemi-powered noisemakers to the delight of the crowd, and amazing trucks, cars, vans and vehicles of all sorts packed into every available piece of real estate available. With the show barely open to the public the display areas were as packed as they could be with stragglers fighting for the last open spaces.
Known by many as the premier event on the West Coast, the Del Mar Nationals has only grown in popularity over the years. Another event that has grown in recent years was the AutoCross, with scores of participants showing up with trucks, muscle cars, some vintage vehicles all plying their skills against each other, the clock, and those tricky cones that seemed to jump out at a few racers. With the participants broken up into several categories there were some friendly rivalries developing, but all in all it was a competitive event with some serious driving skills and some awesome machines ripping up the course.
Cramming all this fun into three short days is not easy, but the folks at Goodguys really know how to put on a good show that really drew a lot of talent from the local area and from out of state. The Truckin crew sure had a blast going around and seeing all of what Del Mar had to offer and can’t wait until next year! To find out about future events go to www.good-guys.com/2015-events.
