The 20th Anniversary of Slammin’ and Jammin’ - The Return of a Legend!

For longtime car and truck show fans, the name Slammin’ and Jammin’ conjures up great memories. The event started way back in 1995 and has been a long-running favorite for show goers in the South East. Held at the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Tennessee, the event is back after a brief pause with all the fun stuff that put it on the Gotta-Be-There List for dozens of area custom truck clubs. Show promoter Charlie Cobble brings more than 30 years of experience to the get-together and is dedicated to restoring the event to its former glory in years past, when close to fifteen hundred vehicles would show up for a weekend of fun. Besides the great collection of vehicles on display, lots of activities added to this year’s entertainment beginning with a window-rattling MECA (Mobile Electronics Competition Association) stereo competition, and a smoky burnout exhibition that created a huge cloud cover in the Tennessee sky along with some serious piles of rubber dust. Next, the Lowest of the Low competition in the Pavilion made it clear which of the competitors truly understood the principle of minimizing daylight peeking out from the rockers. Naturally, the Bikini Competition was also a well-attended event with more than a few camera phones needing a recharge even before the winners were announced. The Sunday afternoon award ceremony sent 180 drivers home with new additions to their trophy wall.
