Through the many years it has been around, Slamboree has been a top show in the Midwest. Held on the first weekend of August, the heat from the sun is as hot as the spectacular rides that show up year after year. Located about 30 miles east of Oklahoma City on Highway 40, the Grand Hotel and Resort proved once again to be a perfect spot to showcase everyone's custom ride. Attendance was up from previous years and for good reason, too. This show draws custom rides from all over the country and only seems grow as the years go by. With well over 300 cars, trucks, and motorcycles giving it their all to try to take home just one of the numerous trophies to be handed out, the build quality and wide variety of vehicles is hard to beat. Even with a torrential rain storm in the early hours on Saturday, this year's turnout did not disappoint any automotive enthusiast in attendance. From custom classic hot-rods to a body-dropped twin-turbo LSX ’15 Tahoe on 28-inch Billet rims, to even a custom ’59 Grumman Olson Kurb Side van. Slamboree also strives to help the less fortunate. An abundance of toys were donated to the Toys for Tots drop-off in addition to all of the custom rides. For more information on next year's show, visit www.thebigshowok.com.
