Hurricane Be Damned!- Last Resort 2017
Last Resort 2017
The Last Resort truck show was started in 2007 by Stuart Daigle and has steadily grown for the last 10 years. This year, Last Resort had its highest number of entries, at more than 500 custom show vehicles. The event takes place every year at the Louisiana Oil & Gas Park in the heart of Jennings, Louisiana, and also features Gator Chateau, which allows you to interact with live alligators.
For many years, the clothing company KIK, run by Trae and Kris Baxter, had been the title sponsor of the show, but due to the massive flooding in Houston during Hurricane Harvey, they tragically lost their home and most of their merchandise. The hardworking men and women of the host club Severed Ties held a charity auction, and the proceeds of more than $13,000 went to the Baxters to get them back on their feet. Stuart wishes to thank KIK for its support over the past years and wanted to give back to Trae and Kris to show his appreciation.
A special thanks goes to O’Reilly Auto Parts, Jeff Davis Parish Tourism, Premium Powder Coating, MiniTruck Cartel, Solo Films, Accuair, Viair, AVS, Zarate Steel Works, and all the other spectators and sponsors. A special thanks to Get Low and Toasta for their hard work on the mic and keeping the music playing for the entire show. Although massive rain and winds forced Last Resort to end early on Sunday, the show was definitely at its peak on Saturday and at the nighttime events at the showgrounds. If you are able to make it to one show in Louisiana, we suggest Last Resort 2018, as it can only get better.
