The Ozarks is a range of land that covers four states, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. In the furthest Southwest point of Missouri is a small town of 1,832 called Noel. When Richard Bruner and his Definite Obsessions crew decided to start a show thirteen years ago, he chose River Ranch Resort in Noel. The resort, packed with cabins and plenty of room for show trucks, was again the home for Sparks in the Ozarks 13. The weekend-long gathering was packed with events like the Halloween Costume contest, a legal drag session where the town opens their main highway for trucks to drag through shooting off sparks and the Sprite Chug contest where each contestant would chug a liter of Sprite and eat a banana afterward.

Sponsors for Sparks 13 was Tukn Clothing, Lay’n Licks Pinstriping, Puds Paint & Fab, Graphic Disorder, Gooch Customs, Atom’s Graphics, Stripes by Mike, Boonedock Customs, Drop Em Wear, KIK, Viair, ThorBros, P1 Media and LayinBody. DJ Maze provided music for the entire weekend to get people in the mood for the festivities. A truck limbo contest was added for Saturday before the nighttime events that always get R-rated enough to enjoy. Vertically Challenged held their 20th Anniversary at Sparks making it the largest attendance to date.

Richard wishes to thank all the participants and supporters of Sparks in the Ozarks, and their support over the years is what keeps the show scene and Sparks alive and growing every year. In the thirteen years of Sparks, 2018 was the very best even while experiencing the warmest weather in the Missouri area.
