Turkey Drag 2018
Texas’ Premier and Largest Custom Camping Show
Just outside of Dallas, Texas is a city called Lone Oak which has the population of 598 residents and is home to Wind Point Park. The park, which is a private 170-acre park on East Lake Tawakoni, was home to Turkey Drag which doubled the town’s population. With right around 900 registered vehicles and close to 3,000 spectators, Turkey Drag has become the place to be during November. What’s billed as an “All Weather Event,” by show promoter Ben Miller, was nothing but sunshine and good times.
Some top awards given away this year included Best Debut with John from Diesels of Dallas winning with a body-dropped Denali dually, Best Engine went to Addison with his ’56 Ford F100, Temo with his ’12 Chevy Silverado winning Best Interior, Chad Rape won Best Paint with his ’94 GMC from Committed, Sandra Sanchez won Best Suspension with her lifted ’18 Ford F-250, Josh Burnett won Highest Vehicle with his ’17 Ford F-450 dually and Club Participation went to Team Billet with 44 vehicles in attendance.
With events like the Car & Truck Limbo, Team Tug-O-War, Tattoo Contest and Beard Contest, Turkey Drag is fun for all ages. Sponsored by Sunday Funday, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Twisted Inc. Films, Clyde James Cycles and DFW Vapor, Turkey Drag 2018 exceeded all expectations and Ben Miller and his hardworking staff are already working on their 2019 show, which takes place on December 6-8 of next year.
