Brothers Show & Shine 2019

New Location, Same Vibe

Jul 15, 2019
We can't even remember a time when there wasn't a Brothers Show & Shine to go to every year in the middle of the summer in SoCal. We remember the big move from a school parking lot to the park on the edge of Orange County many years ago, and remember when just a couple hundred C10 lovers was a huge turn-out. For the last handful of years, it is one of the few times that our long running Project Old School is dusted off and driven for a day.
This year, we were all thrown for a loop- and so was the crew at Brothers- when the park they had been at for so many years decided not to let them renew for 2019. They quickly booked oak Canyon park, just a mountain or two to the southeast, and home of big-time event like the old Hootenanny rockabilly festival and the Born Free motorcycle show. Other than being a little farther off of the freeway, we hardly noticed the difference.

Once inside, we were treated to 650 GM trucks- mostly C10s, that were all in various states of restoration that range from famous show truck to partially redone to probably not-going-to-happen. There were a few debuts, a few that came out of the woodwork just for this show, and a bunch that you've seen right here in Truckin. But the majority of the trucks were partially built weekend warriors being home built by hard-working men and women from the SoCal area- and a handful from Arizona, too. Those guys get around.

A good time was had as always, and if you like C10 trucks and live in the southwest you should probably plan on attending in the future. Check out brotherstrucks.com for info on next year's events and enjoy the photos.
