Severed In The Southwest 2019

New Venue reinvigorates the well-established December show

In the custom truck world, there is only one certainty and that is change. Everything eventually changes whether it be styles, brands, trends, or in this case, events. After many years in the same location each December, the Severed in the Southwest Show made a major venue change this year to Universal Technical Institute in Avondale, Arizona. This new location offered a vast increase in available space but also the ability to offer show attendees some access to the facilities in the building including a few vehicles taking turns on the dynamometer to check their engine power output.

Trucks of all makes, models, and years along with other custom vehicles from all around the state and a few out-of-towners too, lined up early Saturday morning to roll in to their show spot for the day. As spectators began arriving, there were food trucks to feed the masses, a DJ playing music all day long, vendors to check out, and a few open doors at the UTI Campus if you wanted to check out the inside of the facility. When all was said and done, Top 75 awards were handed out along with 20 Best of Awards with the Best Of Show Truck going to the Apicella Designs 1952 Chevrolet 3100. If you're interested in attending next year's show and helping them fill up the parking lot at their new location, check them out at ssw.show
