2016 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo to Feature Show-N-Shine, Ride-Alongs, and SCORE Baja Tribute
Off-road fans probably already know how cool the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo is, but just in case you’re still in the dark, you ought to check out this year’s event up close. Slated for October 1-2 in Pomona, California, this year’s event will give its guests a long list of cool features to go along with the exhibits.
We’re most curious about the Rubicon Trail Off-Road Vehicle ride-alongs, which feature Jeep vehicles loaded with accessories from Pro Comp, Rubicon Express, G2 Axle & Gear, and Smittybilt. If California geography isn’t your strong suit, Pomona is nowhere near the actual Rubicon Trail, so we’re interested to see how the Off-Road Expo recreates it within the Pomona Fairplex.
One event that should excite any prospective Off-Road Expo guest is the O’Reilly Auto Parts Show-N-Shine. Anyone interested in showing off his or her street-legal 4x4 can enter a contest to win a free show space and VIP entrance passes to the Off-Road Expo. Of those 4x4s entered, several will be chosen to occupy a weekend show space, and of those finalists, the top three vehicles will be awarded “Best of Show” trophies on the final day of the expo.
As if that weren’t enough, pro drivers will also converge on the MAV TV Proving Grounds to strut their stuff in race trucks from the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Pro-Lite, Pro 2, and Pro 4 classes. Furthermore, there will also be demos of high-powered modified carts for even more fun.
We’ll also be there to cover the SCORE Baja 100 Exhibit, a tribute to off-road legends that includes displays of vintage and modern desert race vehicles, plus autograph sessions from Baja legends on both days of the expo. That’s not all, as the expo will feature DragonFire Racing ride-alongs, autographs from racing pros like BJ Baldwin and Jeremy McGrath, an off-road–performance marketplace, live music all weekend long, and the Miss Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo Bikini Contest.
Discount tickets to the Off-Road Expo are available at O’Reilly Auto Parts for $15 for adults and $6 for kids, and they’ll be available at the gate as well, although for a slightly higher price.
