2012 Chicago Auto Show: 2012 Jeep Compass True North
Now that the butched-up Compass has earned its Trail Rated status, the Mopar folks figured it might be time to give it some aftermarket love. To start, there's a 2-inch lift kit from Rocky Road Suspensions with rock-rails to protect the lower body sides, tow hooks to help snatch it out of a sticky situation it if its Trail Rating comes up short, and brush guards front and rear. Those features, as well as the 16-inch wheels are matte black, as is the roof panel, luggage rack, and an applique surrounding the headlamps and grille openings (which remain body color. To boost engine responsiveness (no peak output increases were quoted), there's a freer-flowing intake and exhaust system from the catalyst back. Inside there's an inclinometer to spell out what sort of dangerous pitch or roll angle the driver has gotten into, and neoprene seat upholstery. Rounding things off is a Kicker stereo system to keep the woodland creatures well at bay.
