2012 Chicago Auto Show: 2012 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition
It's obvious enough that the Ram 1500 truck is already fit for the outdoors, but if it's still not outdoorsy enough, there's now the 2012 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak edition, which proved to be a hit for the 2011 model year. Ram is ready for another success story, and as a result, is bringing back the special-edition truck for 2012.
A new camouflage exterior vinyl wrap is now available through Mopar, as are camouflage seat covers to complement the truck's exterior. The wrap is manufactured by 3M, maker of vinyl wraps that are used as removable protective coatings for a car's paint, while also lending it a distinctive look. Made of premium cast vinyl, the material eliminates the chances of shrinking, cracking, and peeling with its pressure-sensitive adhesive technology and air-release channels, allowing the wrap to be applied smoothly without any bubbles.
The pattern, called Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity, not only appears on the wrap, but also on custom-fitted seat covers, which are heavy-duty and made of polycotton drill weave fabric. They can be slipped on or off and are washer and dryer safe. So what makes this the ultimate outdoor truck?
"A large portion of our Ram Truck customers are true outdoorsmen and proudly wear the brands they use while they hunt," said Fred Diaz, President and CEO, Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico -- Chrysler Group LLC. "We're enjoying a great relationship with Mossy Oak and this new line of graphics will allow owners to customize their trucks, and display their passion for hunting and the outdoors."
