UPDATED - NEW PHOTOS! 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew First Look

A Bigger Deal for Truck Fans

Jan 10, 2016
The existence of the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is no secret. Once it was shown at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the cat was out of the bag and truck enthusiasts started hoarding their savings for the epic truck. Initially shown only in extended SuperCab configuration, the ultimate availability of a proper four-door SuperCrew configuration was inevitable, as it comprised the majority of sales of the outgoing model. Well, here it is, in its officially-sanctioned glory.

Unfortunately, other than confirmation of its existence, we get very few other details about the Raptor in general that we didn’t already know when the SuperCab was revealed. To recap, it has a second-generation, high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 that’s promised to make more than the outgoing 6.2L V-8’s 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque, a 10-speed automatic transmission, torque-on-demand transfer case, and six driver-selectable driving modes. The Raptor also receives a unique high-strength frame, new, larger Fox Racing shocks, and an optional Torsen front differential for even more epic off-road capability. BFGoodrich 17-inch all-terrain KO2 tires come standard, mounted on beadlock-capable wheels.
The most significant difference between the SuperCab and SuperCrew models is the addition of 12 inches to the wheelbase, from 133 to 145 inches, enabling the new SuperCrew’s famously generous rear seat space.

In terms of horsepower, torque, 0-60 and quarter-mile times, fuel economy, and most importantly, pricing, we’ll have to wait a while longer until Dearborn’s ready to drip out that precious information. Both the SuperCab and SuperCrew versions of the Raptor are expected to go on sale in fall 2016.
